Dolphins!!!

Can't believe they are in the playoffs! Awesome!

Eagles Cowboys?

Stink Stank Stunk. . .

Spoiler Free Review of the UFC

Most of the matches were over more quickly than I would have liked, but overall it was an excellent PPV. The three "main events" met expectations (wicked KO's in all 3), now onto Penn/GSP!

Football almanac questions

Which pre-season #1s finished outside of the Top 25?

Which teams ranked #1 at any point fell out of the Top 25?

Whats the latest into a season where a #1 fell out of Top 25?

All of this was brought on by seeing that UGa was like a 12 or 13.

Enjoy.

Congrats to Sweet Dee.

Unless Robbie Gould puts on the greatest kicking performance ever, the Nasheville Toupee has this season's championship wrapped up.
Send your $10 donations to the Sidekick -- Dick's has jerseys on sale, so we might be able to pick his Brandon Jacobs jersey up quite easily.

Only 3 months and a week until the '09 draft !!!

What a great game.

So the Panthers now have to beat the Saints, with Drew Brees needing 401 yards to pass Dan Marino, otherwise the Falcons, who are playing the Rams, win the fucking Division, dropping the Panthers to a 5th seed.

How in the World?

Did Jonathan "Coach" Coachman end up on ESPN News? How do you go from announcing WWE to being an Anchor on ESPN News. Very odd.

HFS.
Wow. Great Hornet.

Besides Steve Young getting 'cupped' ...

Anyone see the stiff arm from (I believe) J. Stewart on Ronde Barber???
Wow.

Anyone see Steve Young...

get nailed with a cup in the post game???

Too funny.

Playoffs!

Wow, no one likes to start Panthers or Bucs, huh? Because only Jonathon Stewart and Steve Smith are being played tonight, we pretty much know the season's final standings:

1) Minters Hard Hitters 9-5, strong final games gives them the #1 seed
2) Sam Hamwich 9-5, yet another play off appearence
3) Nasheville Toupee 9-5, really!?
4) Mustprotecthishouse 8-6, so many keeper qbs...
5) 80s Babies 7-7
6) The Crows 7-7
7) Truth in Advertising 6-8
8) Spooner Express 6-8
9) Terry Tate All Stars 6-8
10) Hela Monsters 3-11

Can we get a poll on who'll win?

So are we going to Birmingham ????

NC State has accepted an invitation to play in the third annual Papajohns.com Bowl against Big East opponent Rutgers (7-5 overall, 5-2 in Big East). The game will be played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama, on December 29 at 2 pm (central) and will be broadcast by ESPN.

Per Google maps:
Driving directions to Birmingham, AL
555 mi – about 8 hours 50 mins

The 'Uar & I both enjoy this mightily.

AU over ASU

just checking ESPN.com and we need Arizona to stay on top of the sundevils to prevent another 6 win competitor. . .

Go Gators!

After watching Tebow shoulder the team and win against the best team in the nation, basically on his own, my vote is for a repeat Heisman.
Let those Big 12-ers try getting those numbers against teams that D up.

Why doesnt State play in the Jimmy V Classic ???

Anyone?
Anyone?

Interesting little factoid

Tonight is the 15th anniversary of the Jimmy V "Dont ever give up!" speech.
Now, when was the speech against Duke ?
I REALLY thought that would have gotten us up and just gotten us a gutsy win, or maybe Coach K would find a wee bit of sympathy and play the 2nd team.
Nope.

***SAN***

One of Valvano's most memorable motivational speeches was delivered February 21, 1993 at Reynolds Coliseum on NCSU's basketball court during the ten year commemoration of the University's 1983 NCAA championship. It was during this speech that Valvano stressed the importance of hope, love, and persistence and included his famous "Don't give up, don't ever give up" quotation.

Wooo Hoooo !!!! Associated Press poll

Others receiving votes: Marquette 86; Baylor 35; Ohio State 32; Dayton 18; Washington State 14; Brigham Young 13; Illinois 11; Saint Mary's 11; Clemson 8; Butler 5; Western Kentucky 5; Florida State 1; Michigan 1; North Carolina State 1; Texas A&M 1.

I got greedy and I got burned.

If I had just played Flaco & Bernard Berrian, I could have at least finished the season on some kind of high note.
Anyway, since we managed to stink up the end of last season, it appears we are not participants in the ACC / Big Televen Challenge. That apparently leaves me cheering for Purdue and Michigan State. If only Remy Blamy were still in town!!!

I Get to Procrastinate

Or is it prognosticate? I forget but The Sidekick took fantasy football so I'll take College Foosball.

Anyhow, turns out NC State is really on the bowl bubble because of an obscure NCAA rule that says all of the ACC's 7-5/7-4 teams must be placed before NC State, which makes us 10th in the bowl pecking order.

If we want to go bowling, turns out we need to become massive Troy St fans because Troy State beating Arkansas State will likely free up a spot for us in the Motor City Bowl. What is Troy? Go them.

It also helps for Louisville and Arizona State to lose their last games. It looks like it'll be NC State and Norte Dame slumming it for a bowl bid and I hate to say it, but Norte Dame is far superior.
