internet transition pays off
our time warner connection didn't allow ESPN3. Our Verizon Connection DOES. Yup. I just saw CJ miss the Interception while the Great Pumpkin plays on the tv for Caleb.
Suicide Pick
Your thoughts on my suicide pick? My only obvious pick this week is KC over Buffalo. I don't like picking against Buffalo with Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has quietly become the NFL's highest rated quarterback over the last two seasons. He also gave New England, Baltimore, and New York Jets close games...I figure KC isn't as good as those guys.
If I don't take KC, my pick is St. Louis. Get another bad team on the sly...Detroit over St. Louis worked out perfectly.

Just to be on the up and up
As commish, I have the ability to veto trades as I see fit; however, I've never done that since I don't think any member of the league would ever willingly dump players. I've also never participated in a non draft day trade either; until now...since there is no peer review process for commish trades, I thought I would throw it out there and give you guys a chance to look at it before I approved it.
Here it is:
Tom Brady and Percy Harvin for Matt Ryan and Brandon Marshall.
If there are no major objections, the trade will go through Thursdayish. If there are problems, hash them out in the comments.

Tight Ends, Arg
Dallas Clark joins Jermichael Finley on the injured reserve. If you have a top 5 tight end type (now top 3), let me know...I will pay a hefty ransom.

Wow
Here's a former agent talking about about players in Sports Illustrated. Great piece and, most interesting, is a guy who says he personally paid John Blake to get UNC players to sign with his agency.
Best Recent Tweet from Lee Fowler
come to think of it, maybe herb's record against unc won't be so bad after all this finishes. i bet roy's sweating like a whore in church.

Feeling a bit of nostalgia & a wee bit old
I think the fact I basically grew up with Bobby Cox, I'm a little bit sad seeing him go.
Thanks for what could arguably be the greatest World Series ever in '91 and NLCS in '92
Thanks also for what could arguably be the worst NLCS ever, outhitting the Phillies in 93 but losing every 1 run game. We did however, get Joe Carter's walk off HR in game 6 of the World Series.
Granted, its been a while since they dominated the NL East, but it was good while it lasted.

Insanity dying down.. mildly happy w. RB situation.
So I have 3 top 10 WRs. I have a top 5 QB. I have a top 5 TE.
Digging through the detritus of the available RB pool, now it looks like the trio of Michael Bush, The Law Firm and Knowshown Moreno are all decently solid top 25 RBs. Assuming Jahved Best's toe doesn't act up, I'm feeling much much much more mentally stable than I was a week ago.
Now I just have to worry about Kolb and his noodle arm throwing to DJax.

Suicide Pick
Please advise on a suicide pick for this week. I can't pick Green Bay, New Orleans, or Tennessee. I currently have picked Detroit but that seems ill advised.

Final week of simple model...next week this will account for opponent strength, too.

White Power
So this Arian Foster kid, he's all right. Owning him is weird. This is my 9th year of fantasy football and not one of my teams has ever had a 30 points per game scorer (except for the last 6 games of Larry Johnson's break out season). He's so good that Gary Kubiak had to bench him 1/3 of the game just to make it fair. Anybody want to trade for him? It makes me nervous to be dependent on one guy like this.
