Saints, Colts Hoping To Resolve Super Bowl Through Diplomacy

From the Onion:

MIAMI—Team officials from the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts emerged from a tense, 12-hour negotiating session Thursday and told reporters that, while they had yet to reach a settlement that would prevent a massive on-field conflict, the AFC and NFC champions were committed to resolving the Super Bowl through diplomatic channels.

"Playing this Super Bowl is our last resort," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who was flanked by the coaches and quarterbacks for the opposing teams. "Yes, there are some difficult issues that need to be hashed out, such as who will be the game's MVP, the number of total passing yards for each quarterback, and which team will be named Super Bowl champion, but I think we made progress today."

"The Colts and the Saints are unwavering in their commitment to avoid any violence and wish to resolve the Super Bowl peacefully, without a single football being thrown," Goodell added.

According to team sources, formal overtures to crown a Super Bowl victor through peaceful negotiation began almost immediately after Saints kicker Garrett Hartley connected on a game-winning field goal against the Vikings last Sunday.

I didn't realize NC State was a real team

Sidekick introduced me to ESPN's Streak for the Cash, a series of even-money bets. Even money meaning there's a near-equal chance for either event to occur. One of today's bets is will UNC win/lose at NC State? No line, no odds, just guess the winner strait-up. Is this what they call a moral victory?

smack talking and last three

SO I have a couple of duke bound kids and I quickly shot a dook email at them via facebook.

Now I know my team is due for a fairly large hangover at MD. But we are 2-1 against ranked teams in the last three and only lost by 3 to the tigers (+18) in those three.

I get one more day to enjoy this since Jury duty robbed me of morning after smack talking!

New Research Project for Tray Dee

Phone call earlier confirmed that the RA and T-bone can't remember any NC Alumni OTHER than Tory Holt with superbowl hardware? Stems from sadness of PDiddy being as good/better than the other two in his draft class with them.

Of course, Jerricho C. is still in the mix for this year and maybe a peripheral d-line/dback out there?

Can anyone confirm?

The Lee Fowler twitter page references the fact that NC State is the only BCS school without a conference championship in football, M/W Basketball, or baseball since 1993. Is this true?

NNFN

I can honestly say that I've never seen Carolina lose three in a row nor tonsil cancer.

Worlds Colliding, Jerry!

Some funny stuff in here...

Kicker Wanted

I gotta say, San Diego's own Sam Swank has a nice ring to it.

I know I probably shouldn't even mention this...

but would anyone have a huge problem if we fired TOB and hired Mike Leach? Keep in mind that I'm an O'Brien guy, but don't you have to try and get Leach if he's available?

I See They Use #24

Am I wrong to wonder why it hasn't been retired yet? I mean, he's the only player in NC State history to get a triple double. And I was there.

Am I allowed to like Ray Lewis?

I know he probably killed two people, and he dances like a douche during the game, but when he talks about football, I just can't help but get excited.
