Cyborg Wow!
Cyborg will easily dispatch Carano. Those two 140 pound ladies were going after each other. Cyborg throwing straight bombs and Baszler trying every sub in the books.
Cyborg throws punches better than any woman I've ever seen (better than most men in fact). Carano throws wild, slow, looping punches. Cyborg is going to demolish her pretty face straight down the pipe. Won't even be close!
The most exciting fight I saw on XC all night.

Sidekick's spare time
I am truly happy to see that the Sidekick is putting his spare time to good use and throwing up a bunch of posts. Throwing them up on the Sports site is just an added bonus for me, because really I don't know shit about anything else.
Thank you Sidekick. Truly, thank you

T bone's favorite sport center commercials. . .
Here's the buddy program commercial. It's definitely one of my favorite. The direct recording quality of this particular edit is grainy.
And this one is the Peyton and Eli. I would love to seem them reprise this now that they've both got blings. Did Archie earn a pro ring?
The 'Guar may be interested in the Steve Irwin bit.

Completely random side note of the day.
As much as I want to hate him, I think that I may actually have a man crush on Tim Tebow.
Favorite Sportscenter Anchor?
Thinking about this earlier in the day as I was trying to figure out whether to watch 'First Take' or 'Sportscenter'. Eventually, I realized that the fact I was contemplating not watching SC showed just how far the show has fallen. Back in the day, late night/early morning SC was must watch TV. You had a great mix of anchors, including Dan Patrick, Keith Olbermann, Craig Kilborn, Larry Biehl, Bob Ley, Charlie Steiner, etc.
Each of these anchors brought his own personality to the show without having a shtick that overpowered the fact that the show was about sports and sports highlights(see Scott, Stu).
My personal fave: Charlie Steiner. He seemed to enjoy the job, while at the same time, realized that the show wasn't about him. Also he was hilarious in some of the 'This is SportsCenter' commercials.
Some examples:
So, whoyagot?

Last in division while UNC is second in theirs?
Where's the rest of the outrage? IF they reranked the group as a set of twelve rather than two sets of six, where would we fall then in a meaningless preseason ranking?
My ire was really up that the Herald Bung article made only one mention of State in the article while repeatedly quoting Davis and Cutliffe. And that mention was "rounding out the division. . . . . . NC State."
I'm burning some extra incense for the health of our running back posse and hopes that the O-line can hold open enough gaps to spring them free. I am not confident about our Qback quandry. Hopefully we'll put up fewer than 4 INT/game this go 'round. . .

War Fedor!
I'm not sure there's anyone on the planet that can argue that Fedor isn't the baddest dude in MMA right now. He just dismantled Tim Sylvia in about 30 seconds.

The Open!
Don't want to spoil it for those of you recording it, but the leaderboard for this tourney is just fantastic. For a non Tiger event, ABC(?) has got to be quite happy with the way things look like they're going to turn out this weekend.

MMA more dangerous than boxing?
Diaz in Coma after collapsing in his corner before the 11th round.
This was on Wednesday night fights last night. Anyone that says MMA is more dangerous than boxing may need to rethink that.
A potential 36 minutes of fighting compared to 15 minutes (25 for title bouts). Yes, in MMA there is more than just throwing punches, but no one is going to die from a triangle or rear naked choke.
I've said this before, but the biggest difference between MMA and boxing is that no one in MMA gets hit in the head hundreds of times during the course of the match, and more importantly no one in MMA gets the opportunity to take a 10 count then get back up numerous times and continue to take punishment (this obviously results in no one getting critically injured in MMA).

Oh Quinton...
Not in the OC!
Funniest comment that I've seen thus far (on a decidedly unfunny situation) is that it's a good thing the police got him on the ground since Forrest showed that he's helpless there (oh, that's right, none of you fuckers have any idea what that joke means since nobody showed up to watch the fight; fuckers).

For the 'guar
From a game of NCAA '09 I played this evening (the reason it's from so far away is that I was really trying to show the corner blitz in action).

Is anyone watching this?
I always forget how the momentum constantly shifts and how dramatic tennis is.
In the Wimbledon final Nadal went up 2 sets, then Federer comes back and wins the next two sets. Now in the 5th its 2-2 Deuce, and in Rain delay.

Hodge makes Nets summer league
At the bottom...
"Hodge has worked out at the Nets’ practice facility in recent weeks and general manager Kiki Vandeweghe - who drafted him in Denver - has said that Hodge could be an option for the Nets if he plays well."
