Dirty pool?

Did one of our league members stash a guy on waivers just so that they could pick them back up just as one of their other players went on their bye week?

For shame, for shame...

I am just a luddite, but doesn't masking a pick on waivers actually constitute a little gamesmanship? Or is it just dirty rotten cheating. ..

That's really the question, isn't it?

What is this that we speak of?

So I must say that I was a bit clueless about waivers in our league until this post. Here are the details of how they work, but apparently once you drop a player all other owners have a set period of time during which they can make a claim on that player(2 days for our league). If more than one owner claims a player that was dropped, the owner with the highest waiver priority gets him. If no one claims him within 2 days, he is a free agent and it is first come first served.

That being said, I don't think we have had any waiver wire acquisitions have we? Chris Cooley was close but I think he was a free agent when picked up.

I picked Eli Manning off the waiver wire a couple weeks ago.

I didn't realize Chris Cooley was the problem we discusses...since I dropped him, I am unable to pick him back up until everyone else has had a chance to claim him.

I can also tell you that I meant to keep Cooley on my roster through this but was forced to make adjustments because of the trade with Greguar meant I had to make room for a bye-week Brett Farve (he sent me 3 players, I sent him 2).

On Monday, I dropped my spare QB Eli Manning and re-took Cooley. My starting TE, Jason Witten, is on bye this week.
